With its fire systems partner Gent by Honeywell, Trident Fire Systems is committed to this educational role and to the provision of a Continuing Professional Development programme for the fire industry.
Trident is pleased to be able to offer the whole series of Gent’s technical seminars aimed at raising the knowledge base of professionals. Each seminar aims to provide a better understanding of the key considerations surrounding a particular topic.
Certified Courses – All Gent CPD seminars offered by Trident have been officially certified by the Construction CPD Certification Service and are listed on their website www.cpduk.co.uk. The seminars have also gained other relevant external accreditations.
CPD at Your Offices – As time is precious, Trident and Gent would be very happy to hold these seminars at your offices, at timings can be tailored to suit your needs.
Typically a seminar will be held for six to ten people from your organisation, we’ll even provide lunch!
All attendees are provided with full supporting documentation and CPD Certificates of Attendance are awarded on completion of each seminar.

Comply Don't Fry (approx 1 hour)
The effect on the requirements of the provision of a fire detection system within a premise, in light of new Legislation, Building Regulations and changes to current Standards.Don't be Alarmed! (approx 1 hour)
A guideline on the provision of Voice Alarm (VA) systems and how they are used in conjunction with an Advanced fire detection system. This presentation looks at the requirements of the code of practice BS5839-8:1998 and provides some useful tips on system design.
Raising the Standard (approx 2 hours)
Provides an overview of BS 5839:1:2002 which covers Design, Installation, Commissioning and Servicing of a fire detection system, as well as detailing the end users responsibilities. This Standard was heavily revised in 2002 and the presentation highlights all the key changes throughout the document.
Watching the Detectors (approx 1.5 hours)
This presentation takes a detailed look at sections 21 & 22 of BS5839-1:2002 which covers the various types of detectors, their selection and siting.
Playing with Fire (approx 1 hour)
A more controversial look at the process of providing a new fire alarm system and understanding why over 90% end up not complying to the current standard.
